Merryhill Stabbing: Teen Hurt At Busy West Midlands Shopping Centre Friday

The event took place on Thursday, November 28, at the Merry Hill shopping center in Brierley Hill, Dudley. Just after 3:30 p.m., reports of a group of people carrying weapons prompted the contact for emergency services.

Paramedics treated a teenage boy for injuries that are not believed to be serious before taking him to hospital for further assessment.

Traffic around the centre became heavily congested in the aftermath of the attack, which occurred on one of the busiest shopping days of the year due to Black Friday sales.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it received a 999 call at 3.39pm. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Trust’s Critical Care Car were dispatched.

A spokesperson said: “On arrival we discovered one patient, a teenage male. He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to hospital for further assessment.”

West Midlands Police also released a statement, saying: “We received reports of a group armed with a weapon in Merry Hill shopping centre just after 3.30pm today (28 November). One person sustained a minor injury and has received medical attention.
