“I don’t want to post this because it makes it real. The last twelve hours have been a nightmare. I’m still in shock and completely numb. Chad passed away unexpectedly last night. Please keep me and the boys in your prayers as we try to process this. It was a very traumatic event that Boone and I witnessed. I’m so sorry I haven’t reached out personally; it’s just too painful right now.”
Bruce served as a coach with Trojans Youth Football, where he was celebrated not only for his knowledge of the game, but for his ability to guide, encourage, and inspire the young athletes he worked with. Teammates, parents, and fellow coaches described him as patient, uplifting, and deeply invested in every kid who played under his leadership.
In a statement, Trojans Youth Football honored his legacy:
“We’re deeply saddened to share that Coach Chad Bruce has passed away. Coach Bruce was more than a coach — he was a mentor, role model, and friend to so many young athletes. Our thoughts are with his family and everyone who was touched by his leadership and care.”
Friends and community members have been sharing memories of Bruce as someone who always showed up—whether it was cheering from the bleachers, helping after practice, or listening when someone needed guidance.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced, and the family has asked for privacy as they grieve and begin to process their loss.
Bruce’s influence will continue to live on in the players he coached, the families he supported, and the community that admired him.
He is remembered for his dedication to family, his unwavering commitment to youth sports, and the positive spirit he brought to those around him.
