Isaac T. Johnson Obituary-Death News;  MMA Passes Away During A Competition At Cicero Stadium

Following the untimely death of 31-year-old fighter Isaac Johnson on Friday night, November 21, 2025, during a bout at Cicero Stadium, the mixed martial arts (MMA) community and the city of Chicago are in grief. At the Matador Fighter Challenge, which attracted a throng anxious to witness local talent in action, Johnson was scheduled to square off against Mario Aleksandrovski in a highly anticipated bout. Rather, the evening would be characterized by a terrible loss.

Isaac Johnson’s death occurred during the event in the arena, a place where fighters push their limits and compete for glory. At approximately 8:38 p.m., an ambulance was called to the scene after Johnson sustained an injury in the cage. The injured fighter was rushed to Loyola University Medical Center, but despite the swift response, Isaac was later pronounced dead.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Johnson as the victim of the incident. However, at the time of reporting, no official cause of death has been released. Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, with the Cicero Police Department leading the inquiry.
